India: one change since the squad was named
Shreyas Iyer captains and Tilak Varma is vice captain. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the two wicketkeepers. Jasprit Bumrah is rested.
Washington Sundar has been withdrawn. It is not an injury: he is going back to Tamil Nadu to play red ball cricket in the Ranji Trophy, which starts on 11 October, ahead of India's next Test assignment. Naman Dhir replaces him, his first call up to the T20I squad. Dhir played in the one day series that has just finished and took a wicket in the third match in Mullanpur.
The squad: Shreyas Iyer (c), Tilak Varma (vc), Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav.
Two of them arrive with a gold medal from Saturday: Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma both made fifties in the Asian Games final against Pakistan.
West Indies: sixteen, with one doubt
Shai Hope captains and keeps wicket. He comes in off an unbeaten 162 that won the last one day international for West Indies.
Amir Jangoo was added to the squad on 5 October as cover for Jewel Andrew, who hurt a finger taking a catch in that final ODI. Scans found no fracture and Andrew has not been ruled out, so both are in the party for now. Jangoo has earned the call: he made 239 runs in the three ODIs, more than anyone except Shubman Gill and Hope.
Kamil Pooran, an opening batter, is uncapped in T20 internationals. He was picked on the strength of the Caribbean Premier League, where he scored 273 runs in eight innings at a strike rate a little under 160. Shimron Hetmyer joins after a rest following the CPL. Jason Holder has been rested.
The squad: Shai Hope (c, wk), Jewel Andrew, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Shimron Hetmyer, Akeal Hosein, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul, Kamil Pooran, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Quentin Sampson, Romario Shepherd, Shamar Springer.
