India's first two wins were close: a 226 chase with two balls left in the opener, then a recovery from 70/5 with one ball left in the second match. The third was not close at all. Abhishek Sharma's 113 from 38 balls took India to 199 in 13.2 overs. Report: Abhishek's hundred seals the series.
New Zealand then found their batting. They made 259/7 in Auckland, with Phillips scoring 107 from 49 balls, and chased 192 in Hamilton with two overs to spare.
